Amateur Radio in Peoria

N9NDF Radio

N9NDF is my amateur radio callsign in Peoria, Illinois. Radio is where a lot of my interests overlap: public service, severe weather, local communications, photography, media, emergency management, and the useful weirdness of signals moving through the air.

I spend a lot of time monitoring local repeaters, experimenting with digital modes, and building small projects that connect radio gear with software and the web. I’m part of my county’s EMA and enjoy supporting community preparedness and severe weather operations.

Most of my operating is VHF/UHF and digital voice, with interests in APRS, P25 monitoring, mesh networking, SDR, D-STAR, DMR, and YSF. I also get on HF occasionally, especially around Field Day, and I’m slowly experimenting with 10 meters, Winlink, FT8, and whatever else catches my attention.
